Introduction

Serrated Hex Flange Nuts are hex nuts with an integrated flange on one side to create a wider bearing surface. The serrated surface creates a locking effect against the material being fastened. Eliminates the need for a separate washer, and highly resistant to vibrations or loosening over time. Case hardened zinc plated steel.

The black oxide coating per MIL-DTL-13924, Class 4 on 300 series corrosion resistant steel will show no signs of corrosion after 96 hours of exposure in a 5% salt spray (fog) test in accordance with ASTM B117.

 Applications 

The integrated washer of a flange nut works in the same way as a standard washer, providing a greater area to distribute the nut's pressure over the part being secured. If the flange has serrations, these serrations bite into the material installed, making the nut less likely to loosen over time due to vibrations.
